The Tour for Humanity, organized by the Friends of the
Simon Wiesenthal Center, was a very unique and educational experience. The
state of the art mobile classroom, and it’s facilitator taught us about the
atrocities of the Holocaust and why we must ensure that we can prevent this
sort of persecution and inequality that the Jewish population underwent in
Europe during the 1940’s. This experience had inspired and empowered us, the
current generation to take appropriate action against hatred and promote justice,
along with human rights. Furthermore, we learned how to compare our residential
school’s history unit with the oppression of the First Nations, together with
how that relates to other forms of cultural genocide. With the Tour for
Humanity, we can be sure that the vision of Simon Wiesenthal will live on.
